New Service Updates: April 15 - April 19

Delays

Belgium

CGSP and CSC unions announced a strike at Bpost until April 22. While difficult to predict, parcel delays of one to two weeks are expected.

Canada

Local sources have advised of inclement weather and freezing rain conditions in Canada, particularly affecting the regions of Central and Northeastern Saskatchewan, and Central Alberta. Delays of up to two weeks are anticipated.

Greece

Industry sources informed us of a 24 hour strike that took place on April, 17th, led by The Confederation of Greek Workers. Delays of up to one week are anticipated.

Kazakhstan

Media sources have reported severe weather conditions causing floods and affecting the collection and delivery of all inbound and outbound parcels in the regions of Aktobe, Kostanay, Akmola, Atyrau and North Kazakhstan. Parcel delays of up to two weeks are expected.

Uruguay

We have been advised that Monday, April 22nd is a holiday in Uruguay. Delays of up to one week should be anticipated due to business closures.

 

Destination Country Scanning Issues

Destination countries practicing contactless delivery have suspended written proof of delivery. As a result, proof of delivery information may be unavailable.

This applies to parcels bound for Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, the Netherlands, Lithuania, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, and Russia.

Ukraine

Effective April 29th, 2022, we will suspend international DDP mail acceptance to Ukraine, where transportation is widely unavailable due to widespread cancellations and restrictions into the area. DDU service is still available to Ukraine, however delays of 3 to 4 weeks should be anticipated.

Full Service Suspension: Please turn off shipping to the below areas.

The Postal Service will continue to accept and process mail destined for these countries; however, these parcels will be held within the United States’ postal network and delivered only once service is restored.

Afghanistan

Effective August 20, 2021, the Postal Service will suspend international mail acceptance to Afghanistan where transportation is unavailable due to widespread cancellations and restrictions into the area.

Belarus

Effective July 22, 2022, the Postal Service™ will temporarily suspend international mail acceptance to Belarus until further notice, due to unavailable transportation as a result of widespread cancellations and restrictions into the area.

Brunei

Effective May 22, 2020, the Postal Service will temporarily suspend international mail acceptance to Brunei, where transportation is unavailable due to widespread cancellations and restrictions into the area.

Central African Republic

Effective February 16th, 2024 we will suspend international mail acceptance to Central African Republic, where transportation is unavailable due to widespread cancellations and restrictions into the area.

Haiti

Effective March 15th, 2024 we will suspend international mail acceptance to Haiti, where transportation is unavailable due to widespread cancellations and restrictions into the area.

Namibia

Effective February 27, 2024, service to Namibia is currently unavailable. Please turn off service to Namibia to prevent order creation.

Palestinian Territories: Gaza Strip

Effective October 27th, 2023 we will suspend international mail acceptance to Palestinian Territories: Gaza Strip, where transportation is unavailable due to widespread cancellations and restrictions into the area.

Russia

Effective March 11, 2022, the Postal Service will suspend international mail acceptance to Russia, where transportation is unavailable due to widespread cancellations and restrictions into the area.

Sudan

Effective May 19, 2023, the Postal Service will suspend international mail acceptance to Sudan, where transportation is unavailable due to widespread cancellations and restrictions into the area.

Syria

Effective June 11, 2021, the Postal Service will suspend international mail acceptance to Syria, where transportation is unavailable due to widespread cancellations and restrictions into the area.

Yemen

Effective April 17, 2020, the Postal Service will suspend international mail acceptance to Yemen, where transportation is unavailable due to widespread cancellations and restrictions into the area.

We have been advised that Monday, November 6th is a public holiday in Argentina. Delays of up to one week are anticipated due to business closures.

Australia

We have been informed of severe weather delays causing floods and road closures, impacting the following postal codes in New South Wales and Queensland: 2460, 2461, 2753, 2754, 2756, 2775, 2785, 4470, 4480 and 4490. Please anticipate delays of one to two weeks.

The floods in Western Australia continue to impact transit into and within the region. We advise customers to anticipate delays of up to two weeks during this time. Additionally, post offices will be closed on March 29th to observe Good Friday.

The outage disabled cell phone communications, GPS, and internet capabilities for millions of Australia residents. Systems are now back online, however parcel delays are expected.

Germany

Media sources have advised of ongoing rail strikes along with industrial action by Lufthansa airline's ground staff from March 7th - March 8th, causing flight delays and impacting mail handling. Minimal delays of up to three days may impact parcels.

Ghana

Outages to the undersea fiber optic system that powers Ghana's internet have temporarily stopped DDU service. This is impacting flights into Ghana as well as longer processing time within the country. This situation is dynamic, but we anticipate delays of up to one week while this issue is addressed.

Greece

Industry sources informed us of a 24 hour strike that took place on April, 17th, led by The Confederation of Greek Workers. Delays of up to one week are anticipated.

Iceland

Volcanic eruptions and the state of emergency continue in the Reykjanes peninsula. All residents have relocated and mail is being directed to temporary addresses. The situation is unpredictable; however, delays of two to three weeks are expected in affected areas.
